Best Spirituality Book for Depression: Old Path White Clouds: Walking in the Footsteps of the Buddha by Thich Nhat Hanh
Old Path White Clouds is the simply and clearly written thoughts of a Zen Buddhist master on the practice of mindfulness meditation and other topics.
Can this book help me overcome depression?
Does it address depression specifically? What does it say that can help?
No. However, meditation is proven to help many people overcome depression. And this book is a beautiful, nonjudgmental treatment of it. Reading Thich Nhat Hanh is like being with Thich Nhat Hanh, which is way better than being with someone who thinks they have the best specific meditation process for you, if only you’d listen carefully and apply it exactly.
To what degree do you think it can help me overcome depression?
Depression effectiveness rating: 5 on a scale of 1-10
